Vid/Terp 2009 Student Video Competition
COLLEGE PARK , Md. - The University of Maryland will once again host Vid/Terp, a campus-wide video competition for undergraduate and graduate students. Now in its third year, the competition offers students a chance to win prizes for making a three-minute video highlighting an area of study or research or interesting, exciting or impactful aspects of life at Maryland .
Students can enter their video in one of three categories-Science/Engineering/Technology; Arts/Humanities/Society; and Student Experience. The Student Experience could include topics such as community service, clubs, hobbies, international experience or a personal student story.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top two finishers in each category and students may compete individually or in teams.
A kick-off meeting will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. in the Visitor Center Auditorium, Turner Hall. At the kick-off meeting, complete details about this year's competition will be provided and students will have an opportunity to join the Vid/Terp listserv, as well as ask questions about video production.
The Vid/Terp 2009 entry deadline is Thursday, April 9 by midnight. Videos will be shown on the UM website, the University of Maryland YouTube site and iTunes U sites, and UMTV.
