Airports

    Reagan Washington National (DCA)

    • Located in Arlington, Virginia, this airport is located about 15 miles south of College Park. Travel can be slow through downtown Washington, D.C. during rush hours; approximate driving time is 40 minutes.
    • You can take the Metrorail from the airport. Take the Yellow Line (toward Mt. Vernon Square), transferring to the Green Line (toward Greenbelt), and get off at College Park/U of MD station.
    • The university's Shuttle-UM buses pick up university-bound passengers on the EAST side of the station.
    • Get off the Shuttle-UM at the first stop. Proceed south on Route 1 sidewalk for Turner Hall, the building with a Block M on its facade, which marks the campus visitor center. University Communications is above the visitor center.
    • The Super Shuttle is also a convenient option.
    • Taxi service from the airport to campus will cost approximately $50.00 (but ask first as fuel charges may be added).

    Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall (BWI)

    • Located just outside Baltimore, this airport is approximately 25 miles north of College Park. Driving time is approximately 35 minutes.
    • MARC Train service is available from the BWI Rail Station to College Park.
    • The Super Shuttle is also a convenient option.
    • Taxi service from the airport to campus will cost approximately $45.00 (but ask first as fuel charges may be added).

    Washington Dulles International (IAD)

    • Located near Herndon, Virginia, this airport is about 35 miles southwest of College Park. Driving time is approximately one hour.
    • Bus service is available to take you to the West Falls Church Metrorail station where you will take the Orange Line (toward New Carrollton), transferring to the Green Line (toward Greenbelt), and get off at College Park/U of MD station.
    • The university's Shuttle-UM buses pick up university-bound passengers on the EAST side of the station.
    • Get off the Shuttle-UM at the first stop. Proceed south on Route 1 sidewalk for Turner Hall, the building with a Block M on its facade, which marks the campus visitor center. University Communications is above the visitor center on the second floor. Enter through the side door next to the Dairy and take an immediate left up the stairs.
    • The Super Shuttle is also a convenient option.
    • Taxi service from the airport to campus will cost approximately $65.00 (but ask first - fuel charges may be added).
