Global Extinction of Species

A recent Washington Post report says that a growing number of animal and plant species are in danger of disappearing from the earth. As the Post reports: "...one-fifth of all vertebrates and as many as a third of all sharks and rays (are) now facing the threat of extinction, according to a new survey assessing nearly 26,000 species across the globe."

The University of Maryland has a number of faculty experts who are researching global extinction and biodiversity issues. Feel free to contact our experts directly. The listing below is alphabetical.
