US Nuclear Weapons Strategy and Nuclear Security Summit
The United States is swearing off the development of new generations of nuclear weapons and will reduce its reliance on them in a sweeping overhaul of its nuclear strategy. President Obama announced the sweeping changes to US Nuclear Policy Tuesday, April 6 - just two days before signing a new nuclear arms treaty with Russia. President Obama is hosting dozens of world leaders in a nuclear security summit in Washington next week.
The University of Maryland has a number of faculty experts who can put US nuclear strategy - and its impact - into perspective. Feel free to contact any of our experts directly. Experts are listed alphabetically.
