Supreme Court 2009-2010

The Supreme Court opens its fall term with a new member - Sonya Sotomayor- and a host of important cases - including campaign finance and a Chicago handgun ban case. UM experts include: political communication expert Trevor Parry-Giles, author of The Character of Justice: Rhetoric, Law, and Politics in the Supreme Court Confirmation Process (2006). He can comment on both the historical, political and rhetorical considerations.

Parry-Giles book has been honored with the Diamond Anniversary Book Award, National Communication Association (2007) and The Kohrs-Campbell Prize in Rhetorical Criticism (2007).
