Expertise Credentials:
Shreevardhan Lele is the Ralph J. Tyser Distinguished Teaching Fellow of Decision Sciences at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business. He is a multiple-time recipient of the Smith School's Allen J. Krowe Award for sustained teaching excellence in the MBA program. In 2002, he was inducted as a Fellow into the University of Maryland's Academy for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
Dr. Lele served as the Academic Director of the Smith MBA programs from 2003-2006. Currently, he chairs the Department of Decision, Operations and Information Technologies' Committee on Programs, Curricula and Courses. In 2006, he was elected by his faculty colleagues from across the Smith School to the newly created Faculty Council, which is responsible for oversight of faculty governance at the Smith School.
Dr. Lele's current work centers on MBA curriculum development and on issues at the intersection of business and society.
His past research has spanned data mining for business intelligence, management of risky projects using the theory of options pricing, and optimal control of monitoring procedures. His work has been published in several refereed scholarly journals including Operations Research; Production and Operations Management; INFORMS Journal on Computing; European Journal of Operational Research; IIE Transactions; and Decision Support Systems.
Dr. Lele is an affiliate faculty member in the University of Maryland's graduate program in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and Scientific Computation.
