Expertise Credentials:
Matt Pearsall is an Assistant Professor of Management & Organization. He teaches the Leadership and Managing Human Capital course in the part-time MBA program for which he received the 2009 Top 15% Teaching Award from the Robert H. Smith School of Business. His research focuses on the development of shared cognition and the coordination of distributed expertise within teams. Recently, he has also examined the effects of gender diversity on group creativity, and how teams cope with stress. His research has appeared in the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and the Journal of Management.
Professor Pearsall received his PhD in management from the University of Arizona. Prior to his doctoral studies, he completed an MBA from Boston University, served in the US Navy and worked for several years in software and communications firms as a financial analyst.
