WHAT: Faculty, students, staff and the larger UMD community are invited to discuss the meaning of Trayvon Martin's killing and its aftermath. This forum will address what this tragedy means in this historic moment, what important work is yet to be done, and how this instance has implications for young men and women on this campus. First, invited speakers will briefly discuss issues that may include racial profiling, black masculinity, violence, gun laws, and much more. Speakers include: After, the forum will open to attendees who feel compelled to speak. The event will conclude with a campus vigil at the Nyumburu Cultural Center, starting promptly at 8:00 p.m.
