Maasai warrior. When young men become warriors after circumcision they
must grow their hair long and wear it braided with elaborate decorations
and red coloring. They are in charge of protecting the cattle herds. The
Maasai are pastoralists, and their cattle are very important to them. In
fact, their cattle are so important that the Maasai live with the cattle
in their bomas.
