The Best Writing Tips - Period!

Writing may come naturally to some, but for most, it's a lifetime work in progress. At the University of Maryland, a unique English Department program to teach writing has been underway for more than 25 years. Called the Professional Writing Program, PWP is aimed at juniors and seniors who learn how to do professional research and build the writing skills they will need to succeed in any profession after graduation.

Faculty Coodinator Lea Chartock says the program "has been recognized as one of Maryland's most innovative educational programs." PWP helps students master the research behind the writing, learn to analyze their audiences, and develop communication and language skills so that they can better reach that audience. The writing process for students is rigorous, but helps ensure success.

Recently, Newsdesk asked the PWP faculty for their best tips to help writers write more effectively.
